We are living in a crucial time for Australian politics. Meaningful policy debate is disappearing as those in parliament continually ‘play the man’ instead of the issue. Politicians seem increasingly detached from every-day Australians, and this is reflected in the decisions of Government.
This is where the DLP wants to make a difference. We are a party made up of ordinary, hard working Australians, just like our Senator for Victoria, John Madigan, who is a blacksmith by trade and knows the hardships endured by working families and small businesses. Our party is made up of people of principle, who love their country and want to bring it something better.
We fight strongly for workers, small businesses and manufacturing, especially those who fall into the many gaps of no meaningful parliamentary representation.
We fight for families, because we firmly believe that a strong family unit is the foundation of a strong community, society and nation.
We fight for a decent life for all Australians; we fight for democracy.
A couple DLP principles I believe Australia is desperate for right now are those of fairness and sovereignty. Fairness for manufacturers and small businesses. Sovereignty for an Australia of today and tomorrow to the benefit of its citizens. We must differentiate between foreign investment and foreign ownership; we want a strong Australia for Australians.
A vote for the DLP is a vote for an independent not tied to big businesses or unions, a vote for a party comprised of every-day Australians whose job is to give you a job and keep your family strong.
I invite you to join us in our efforts and I warmly welcome your support.
With my sincerest regards,
Mark Farrell
DLP Federal Secretary
