McLINDON & MESSENGER ARE TRUE QUEENSLANDERS

"These men have placed loyalty to the people of Queensland ahead of their ties to the crumbling two-party system"  – DLP Senate Team Leader Tony Zegenhagen

Queensland’s DLP Senate team leader Tony Zegenhagen has committed the DLP Queensland organisation to work in partnership with two former LNP members who now sit as Independents in the Legislative Assembly.

“Rob Messenger and Aiden McLindon are true Queenslanders who have put their careers on the line to protect Queenslanders from the excesses of irresponsible privatisation,” said Tony Zegenhagen. “These men have placed loyalty to the people of Queensland ahead of their ties to the crumbling two-party system, otherwise known as the creature with two heads.”

“Queenslanders feel betrayed when the two-party system fails to offer a choice on fundamental issues, such as whether Queensland’s railways, ports and forests will remain in the hands of Queenslanders, or be sold to foreign interests or opportunists.”

“Unionists and all other thinking Queenslanders will place a high priority on ensuring the re-election of Messrs McLindon and Messenger, and the re-election of all other courageous parliamentarians who are prepared to join them in the worthy cause of protecting Queensland’s assets for future generations.”

“I am optimistic that the other independents will declare themselves part of a parliamentary team to defend Queensland’s assets and I know that there are parliamentarians on both sides of the House whose principles may prove stronger than party entanglements.”

Tony Zegenhagen concluded: "Kevin Rudd and Tony Abbott should each think seriously about the Federal political implications of the Queensland Government's obsession with privatisation and asset disposal."
