Financial membership is necessary for those who wish to become voting delegates at party meetings and conferences, and for those who wish to hold positions as office-bearers and/or delegates for various purposes.

Membership for registration purposes is intended for people who wish to support the DLP, but who do not wish to become office-bearers or have a direct role in party decision-making. There is no cost.
As a registered member you may be asked by the Australian Electoral Commission, or its State equivalent, to confirm you are a member of the DLP. This is an AEC requirement for all registered Political Parties to continue on the list of registered parties.
All members will receive regular communications from the Party to ensure they are kept abreast of party matters. At the time of elections and campaigns you, as a member, may be asked to assist either financially or physically in such tasks as distribution of how to vote cards, attendance at meetings, conferences and rallies; letter writing to Members of Parliament or Newspapers, radio call ins etc...
The DLP’s future is looking brighter than at any time since the early 1970’s. With an increased membership and the determination of the members from all across the nation the dream of a strong and successful Democratic Labor Party challenging for and eventually winning Government is closer than previously imagined.
